Highlights in producer/mixer Mike Barbiero's career include mixing 15 times Platinum Guns N' Roses album "Appetite for Destruction" (Geffen), producing the 6 times Platinum Grammy Award winning Blues Traveler album "Four" (A&M), producing 3 multi-Platinum albums for Tesla (Geffen), and mixing Metallica's 8 times Platinum album "...And Justice For All" (Elektra). In addition to these big rock albums, Mike Barbiero's diverse discography ranges from mixing seminal hip hop albums, such as Cyprus Hill's Platinum selling "Skull And Bones" (Columbia) to mixing Maroon 5's single "Harder To Breathe" (Octone), from their 2003 multi-Platinum album "Songs About Jane".
Mike Barbiero began his career in 1971 as an apprentice engineer at Mediasound Studios in New York City. He worked for 2 years as East coast A&R and staff production for Paramount Records, and went on to make a name for himself in the late 70's as a dance remixer. During this time he remixed hits by Madonna, Whitney Houston, Tears For Fears, Earth Wind And Fire, and The Jackson's hit "Blame It On The Boogie" (Epic).
In 2006 Mike Barbiero was awarded a Grammy recognition certificate for his engineering work on the Peter Frampton best instrumental album "Fingerprints". Mike's other recent work includes mixing Counting Crows double Platinum album "Recovering The Satellites" (Geffen), and mixing Hinder's "Lips Of An Angel".
