Alex Ghenea is a mixer, remixer, and music producer based out of Virginia Beach, VA. Over the past few years, Alex has produced remixes for some of the biggest names in music today, such as Ariana Grande, Khalid, Nick Jonas, Maroon 5, Selena Gomez, The Killers, and many others, and grown exponentially into one of pop music’s best and youngest mixers for his continued work with Blackbear.
When he was just fifteen years old, Alex remixed Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper,” which ultimately caught the attention of Demi’s label, Hollywood Records, as well as other major labels. Soon after, Alex remixed Nick Jonas’ single, “Levels,” which earned him radio play, millions of streams online and a #1 spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. He gained even more widespread acclaim and prestige when he released his remix of Ariana Grande’s “Into You,” featuring a new verse by Mac Miller. The remix immediately shot to the top of Soundcloud’s pop charts, has accumulated tens of millions of streams online and even led to a profile on Alex in Teen Vogue. Some of his latest remixes include Pink ft. Khalid’s “Hurts 2B Human,” Ariana Grande’s “Side to Side,” and “God Is A Woman.”
Fueled by his success in remixing, Alex Ghenea took a step forward, turning his attention to mixing and production, expanding his discography with some of pop music's most cutting-edge voices. In 2019, Alex mixed Blackbear’s hit single “hot girl bummer,” peaking at #2 on the Top 40 Radio, and #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has earned double platinum certifications in the US, platinum certifications in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and already amassed over a billion streams. Alex continued his partnership with Blackbear in 2020, mixing the singles “Me & Ur Ghost,” “Queen of Broken Hearts,” and his entire upcoming album “Everything Means Nothing”. Aside from his work with Blackbear, Alex has cut his teeth mixing tracks for Dillion Francis, Jutes, Sody, MKTO, and many others in the past two years.
