The collective of prolific co-writers - Jean Baptiste, Michael McHenry, and Replay (just Replay) - have quietly been writing hit songs for chart-topping, platinum-selling pop acts, including Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Kid Cudi, Jennifer Lopez, Cheryl Cole, and Good Charlotte, to name a few.
Jean Baptiste, the group's primary songwriter, came from singing in an ambient, soulful hip-hop group that toured around the U.S. and, at its peak in the early 2000s, opened for the Black Eyed Peas. He would later end up working on the Black Eyed Peas' album Elephunk, at the insistence of Will.I.Am. He co-wrote the song "Hands Up" from the album. From there he helped form Free School. In the months that followed the formation, the band hammered away in the studio, drawing up would-be hits for both themselves and the artists who pay their bills.
