HEAVY is the LA based production/songwriting team consisting of Jason Bell and Jordan Miller. The versatile duo produces unique and responsive music, with an emphasis on creating thoughtful and moving lyrics. Jason – a founding member of Stars of Track and Field, which has been hailed as the “Indie Darlings from the NW”, has appeared on Conan O’Brien and had the opportunity to tour across North America with legendary bands like The Smashing Pumpkins. Bell also has been responsible for writing and producing the band’s three albums, including “A Time For Lions” which placed in the iTunes Alternative Top 10.
Most recently, HEAVY produced and co-wrote three tracks on The Dirty Heads album, including Top 20 Alternative hit “Celebrate” featuring The Unlikely Candidates. Other writing credits include Chase Atlantic’s “Drugs & Money,” Sleeping With Sirens’ “Cheers,” The Goo Goo Dolls’, “Long Way Home,” and The Unlikely Candidates’ “Your Love Could Start A War”. The HEAVY guys are currently part of the Arcade Songs Family. Working with artists such as Saint Motel, co-writing their song “Happy Accidents”, to Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness’s “So Close” and “Don’t Speak For Me (True)”, shows the duo’s ability to create genuinely diverse music.
In addition, HEAVY co-produced a total of four tracks on Andrew McMahon’s most recent album, Zombies On Broadway, which received fantastic reviews. Alternative Press commented on the album by saying, “Not only does the album overflow with stick-in-your-head hooks, but it also boasts contemporary production, from sleek digital programming to airy synthesizers, to go along with more traditional band-based instrumentation.”
HEAVY’s ability to create and produce energetic, thought-provoking and moving music comes to show their unique skills for understanding artists and creating an unmistakable sound.
