MoZella

Detroit-bred singer-songwriter MoZella seamlessly blends pop, soul, and jazz into her carefully crafted tales of life and love. Her charismatic vocals and charming personality have earned her the reputation as a fresh alternative to formulaic pop artists. As a topline writer, MoZella collaborated with Dr. Luke and Miley Cyrus on the smash “Wrecking Ball,” which hit #1 on the Billboard Top 40 charts and broke records on Vimeo, wracking up an astounding 75 million views in a week. Some of MoZella's other notable co-writes include One Direction's “Perfect” and “Fools Gold”, Ellie Goulding's "Don't Panic", "Holding on for Life", and "We Can't Move to This", Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away”, Rachel Platten’s “Speechless”, Tinashe’s "Feels Like Vegas" and Kelly Clarkson’s “Take You High”. MoZella also co-wrote 11 of the 19 tracks with Madonna on her newest album Rebel Heart, including the single "Living For Love" with Diplo, Ariel Rechtshaid and Toby Gad. Her work as a solo artist has also garnered critical and commercial acclaim, a rare feat for a contemporary pop artist whose musicality is refreshingly quirky and vibrantly vintage. She has released three acclaimed full-length albums. Her collaboration with modern music icon Brian Holland, The Brian Holland Sessions, is her crowning achievement so far. The record was featured in Rollingstone.com, Grammy.com, USAtoday.com, and Spin.com. During that album’s cycle she performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and was interviewed on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Her broadly appealing aesthetic has allowed her to be a compatible tourmate with such diverse artists as the Dave Matthews Band, Lifehouse, Five For Fighting, and Colbie Caillat. MoZella’s songs have been featured in countless television series including Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, Fringe, The Closer, The City, Castle, The Hills, Bones, One Tree Hill, Love Bites, and Biggest Loser. Her song "More of You" was prominently featured in the first episode of Pretty Little Liars and on its soundtrack. She's written and recorded numerous songs used prominently in commercials, such as "Amazed" for Mercedes Benz, "Thank You" and "Let's Stop Calling It Love" for Nivea, and "Magic," which was featured in Verizon's "iDon't" Motorola Droid campaign. "This is Love" and "Glow" were used in the 2011 and 2013 JC Penney holiday TV advertisements. Her song "Love is Endless" was featured in the Katherine Heigl romantic comedy Life As We Know It and on its soundtrack. And, in 2012, MoZella's cover of "Some Like It Hot" (made famous by Marilyn Monroe) was used for the Carl's Jr./Hardee’s "Drive-In" ad.
