Just two weeks after the release of the Fifty Shades Darker film, the movie’s soundtrack has debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at a cool #1, and several AAM clients get to claim a part of the steamy success. Serban Ghenea gets credit for mixing the hit single “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” a collab between Taylor Swift and Zayn, as well as mixing Halsey’s “Not Afraid” and Tove Lo’s “Lies in the Dark.” “Lies” also earns a co-writing credit for GRADES. John Legend’s ballad “One-Woman Man” was co-written and produced by Toby Gad. Nick Jonas’ collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Bom Bidi Bom,” was co-written and produced by Jason Evigan and co-written by Cirukut.
“Bom Bidi Bom” also debuted this week at #54 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” holds steady at #2 - up from #3, and at its peak position of the 10 weeks it has been on the chart! The soundtrack’s notoriety is only sure to grow as time passes beyond a mere two weeks — at least, as much as anything can grow from debuting at #1. We’ll be popping the popcorn as we watch the project reach even more new heights and ears!
