Cirkut and Serban Debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 with The Weeknd’s Starboy

On November 25, 2016, the Weeknd released his much-anticipated album Starboy with the help of AAM’s Cirkut (producer) and Serban Ghenea (mixer). The album was preceded by the release of first single “Starboy,” produced by Cirkut and mixed by Serban Ghenea, and “False Alarm,” also produced by Cirkut. “Starboy” debuted at #1 on Billboard's Twitter Top Tracks chart and #6 on the Hot R&B charts in its first week, eventually peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 10 and ultimately foreshadowing the album’s upcoming success. Within the first 9 hours of the album’s release on iTunes Starboy was #1 in 78 Countries and within the Top 5 in 94 Countries. Together Cirkut and Ghenea contributed 15 of the 18 tracks, the two collectively working on “Starboy” “False Alarm” “Secrets” “Ordinary Life” “Die For You” “I Feel it Coming (feat. Daft Punk).” Cirkut also produced 3 more tracks, “Reminder” “Six Feet Under” and “Nothing Without You.” Additionally, Serban mixed “True Colors,” “Stargirl Interlude (feat. Lana Del Rey),” “Love To Lay,” “A Lonely Night,” “Attention,” and "Rockin'", which debuted as #1 in every country in the Spotify market. With such great talent on this album, it’s no surprise it’s topping the charts!
