Coffee, Sarah Hudson and Jason Evigan Co-Write and Co-Produce New Dua Lipa Record “Physical”

Dua Lipa just dropped the third single from her upcoming album, Future Nostalgia, titled “Physical.” In an interview with Billboard, she described the new track as very '80s inspired and “quite Flashdance-y.” “It's fun, you can dance to it,” she said. “It's definitely my craziest of high energy songs.” Posting to her Twitter account, Lipa revealed the album art for the single, donning a dress with blue crescents and gold zebra stripes against a black background. In addition to teasing the song on Twitter and Instagram, there’s also a trailer for the music video available on YouTube.

Clarence Coffee Jr., Sarah Hudson and Jason Evigan all contributed in co-writing the new record, with Jason Evigan also having a co-producing credit. Prominently, Coffee has contributed to smash hits such as “The Feeling” ft. Halsey by Justin Bieber and “Wild Ones” by Flo Rida. Sarah Hudson helped with co-writing on “Dark Horse (ft. Juicy J)” by Katy Perry and “Black Widow (ft. Rita Ora)” by Iggy Azalea. Meanwhile, Jason Evigan has contributed co-writing and co-producing on several big pop hits like “Girls Like You” ft. Cardi B and “What Lovers Do” ft. SZA by Maroon 5 and “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo. Additionally, Coffee and Sarah have collaborated with Dua Lipa on her previous debut album, both co-writing “Genesis.” Coffee, Sarah and Jason also have more upcoming tracks on Lipa’s new album. Hopefully, this new hit from Dua Lipa will help to boost the already chock-full discographies of these terrific collaborators.

The retro theme of the whole album should provide a welcomed change of pace for both Dua Lipa and the writing collaborators. In an older interview with Billboard, she described the album as “more disco orientated, '80s-inspired. It's fun. It's honest lyrics, but not taking myself too seriously. I just want people when they hear it just to want to dance and just to have fun and just to go out and spend time with their friends.” Future Nostalgia, should help to bolster Dua Lipa’s career as she’s still riding high off the success of her self-titled 2017 LP.
