AAM’s Caroline Ailin helps Dua Lipa Reach Number 1

Dua Lipa’s hit song ‘New Rules’ is one of many on 2017's long list of breakup songs- but the song’s unique twist causes it to stand out from the rest. Described by Billboard as the “anthem for girls who need boundaries with their exes”, ‘New Rules’ playfully pokes fun at the unspoken rules women tend to set for themselves when experiencing post-breakup blues. The distinct yet relatable song lyrics mixed with Dua Lipa’s contemporary voice results in a incredible sound, so it is no surprise that ‘New Rules’ has become a worldwide success. The hit first made its way to the top of the UK Charts in August 2017 and recently reached to #1 on the Pop Radio Charts in the US. As the song made its way up the charts; the music video has been breaking records as well. The video recently surpassed one billion views on youtube; making Dua Lipa the youngest female solo artist to accomplish this impressive feat. AAM’s Caroline Ailin, a Norwegian songwriter and singer based in London helped co-write “New Rules”, undeniably playing a role in the song’s success. This is not the first of Ailin’s achievements; she was awarded “Breakthrough of the Year” in 2016 by the, Norwegian Music Publisher Association and nominated again for Pop Song of the year. If you enjoy ‘New Rules’ as much as we do, Ailin has a few upcoming releases with artists such as Jess Glynne, Sigrid, Sigala, Louis the Child, Astrid S and Alice Chater.
