From making her debut on the broadway scene in 2011 with shows such as “Priscilla Queen Of The Desert”, “Waitress”, and “Hands On A Hardbody”, Keala Settle is making her way to the mainstream public eye. Keala took the song “This Is Me” in The Greatest Showman and brought the song to life through her character of Lettie Lutz. She brought the song all the way to win the 2018 Golden Globe Award. Suzy Evans from TodayTix says, “Keala often finds herself in tears scrolling through Instagram, where she receives countless messages from people who have been affected by the power of the song’s message of accepting who you are and harnessing your own power”. The song was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song where she performed the song and writer for Variety Ariana Brockington confirmed that “audience members at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater jumped to their feet with applause.”
With her rise to the spotlight she has released her Chaper One- EP which features her soulful vocals on all five tracks. Hugh Jackman stated himself that it is an “unbelievable album”. On March 6th, 2018 she also released her cover of “Bird Set Free” where we again hear her giving a voice to so many people. Keala is finally seeing her hard work pay off and, in doing so, she is inspiring others. Just this past week, we saw her on Japan's Music Station Ultra Fes which was shown as a live broadcast. This seems like just the beginning of what she has in store.
