Less than a week after its premiere release on Billboard, Tei Shi (born Valerie Teicher)’s new single “Keep Running” has been generating an unmistakable buzz around the internet. The track, produced and co-written by AAM client and longtime Tei Shi-collaborator Luca Buccellati, was named Baeble’s “Song of the Day” on January 30th and included on last week’s “11 Songs You Need to Hear This Week” on the interns — alongside Kehlani, Major Lazer, and Father John Misty, no less! “Keep Running” is Tei Shi’s first single from her upcoming album Crawl Space, which Luca will also be involved in. The video, directed by Agostina Gálvez, is part karaoke sing-along, part slumber party, all dreamy pop rock fun. It was described by the interns as “a masterclass in silky indie-pop.”
Of the track, Tei Shi said “‘Keep Running’ was the first new track I wrote shortly after releasing my last EP. It’s a kind of call to arms to someone you love, to take on and confront all of life’s obstacles together. To fight to stay together through thick and thin. A ride or die kind of love.”
Look out for Tei Shi’s album (and Luca’s work on it!), due to drop on March 31 on Downtown/Interscope.
