AAM’s multi-platinum selling songwriter, Lindy Robbins, contributes to the APRA Awards 2019! Held at the Melbourne Town Hall in Australia, The Australasian Performing Right Association Awards honors Australian and New Zealand composers, lyricists, and music publishers. This year’s special event will announce two more awards decided by the APRA Board of Directors including Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year and International Work of the Year. With a wider list of categories, many are looking forward to the opportunity for all nominees as well as writers and publishers. Our well-known, award-winning Lindy Robbins co-wrote Australian singer/song -writer Morgan Evans track, “Day Drunk,” which has been nominated for Country Work of the Year. “Day Drunk” is the third single from Morgan’s fourth EP, Morgan Evans, and second studio album, Things That We Drink To. The platinum track spent two consecutive weeks at number 1 on Australian pop radio and earned its spot on the Country Tracks Top 30 after it peaked at 27 on the Australian music sales charts. “Day Drunk” went on to win Single of the Year at the 2019 Country Music Awards of Australia.
With the chance of having multiple awards under its belt, it is no wonder Lindy was behind the single. Lindy proved herself to be a prominent song-writer after co-writing three top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart including Hot Chelle Rae’s “Tonight Tonight,” Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper,” and Jason Derulo’s “It Girl.” In addition, Robbin has also written top charting hits for David Guetta, Selena Gomez, MKTO, Fifth Harmony, Backstreet Boys, and Olly Murs.
This is the APRA Awards biggest ceremony yet, so tune in on Tuesday, April 30th!
